I began this year with a resolution. Not just one of those, “I’m going to lose 50 pounds,” or the famous “no more Chocolate!”
This was a different idea altogether, one that I think could benefit me, as well as the environment.
Starting January 1st 2012, I have begun wearing only what I make. You see, I get angry at big box stores. Most of the time, it’s me screaming, “I could make this for a few dollars. Why are they selling it for fifty?”
Not only did the injustice of it all stir me to action, but the whole idea of clothes being WASTED, was something that I couldn’t handle.
Here are the rules:
1. I can only wear what I make. Simple. Easy.
2. I can wear what I find at Thrift Stores, but only after I “edit” them in some way. Basically, If I saw a shirt at a thrift store that I wanted, I would have to cut it up, and/or tailor it. I can’t just wear it. I believe that this whole “buying from Thrift Stores” thing helps the community, and recycles old clothes that would otherwise be thrown away.
3. Throw your tag on it. Recently I was hit up with the brilliant idea of “branding” all the clothes that I wear. This technically shouldn’t be a part of the rules, but it’s a great addition.
So there we go! I’ll try to post all of my designs and clothes. Currently, I don’t have any more photo space. I need to try and find some
Sincerely,
Enoch Cincotta
